By continuing with this form you agree to the privacy statement below.
    Before you start
Use this form to register your child for a place in Primary 1 starting in August 2026.
You must be living at an address within the City of Edinburgh Council area at the time you complete the form. If you are moving into the Edinburgh area from elsewhere, use the change of address form instead.
You should register even if you plan to

        - apply for a school outside your catchment area.

        - defer your child’s entry to P1 for a year.

Read the Placing in Schools guide and Choosing a School: A Guide for Parents on the Scottish Government website.
    Evidence
    You must provide

        - your Council Tax account number

        - if you are not the Council Tax bill payer, 2 proofs of your address such as a utility bill, tenancy agreement or benefits award letter

        - if your child is not attending a nursery setting in Edinburgh, your child’s birth certificate or passport

        - if selecting your catchment RC school, proof your child is baptised in the Roman Catholic faith

If you’re not sure what your Council Tax account number is, visit Council Tax online (opens in a new tab) to sign in or create an account.
You can upload documents to provide the evidence. You may want to scan documents before you start the form. PDF files are best for scanned documents. If you upload photographs or screenshots the max file size is 1MB.
If you are unable to upload any of the required documents, you should still complete the form. The school will contact you to ask for any information we require.
